Welcome to The Learning Center!

Teachers, administrators, and classified employees have access to high quality, research-based professional learning opportunities throughout the school year.  Professional development is tracked carefully to ensure that every employee has the opportunity to expand knowledge, learn new skills, or enhance practice.

Site-based planning guides much of the professional learning at the school level.  On-going opportunities are available through The Learning Center, the district's full-service teacher support center located in the Central Office facility.

Staff may complete the 2023-2024 Needs Assessment Survey here.

The Learning Center launched new Learning Stream PD management software in 2021-2022.  Benefits of the software include streamlined registration processes, required training evaluations, and PDP (professional development point) certificate storage.  Staff members will now utilize their Learning Stream student accounts to view and print training transcripts, track PDP hours, and retrieve PDP certificates from a central location.  Training instructors will also have access to their personal training records and associated data.  This software includes a CANVAS integration module that will allow Johnson City Schools to continue building an internal training program dedicated to the needs of our staff with more asynchronous course options.

All staff members will be required to login and authenticate their Learning Stream student accounts in the JCS SSO Portal named "Professional Development".  When you login you must select "Authorize" to allow access to your CANVAS account.

Instructors will have both a student and instructor account.  There is a separate instructor access link to sign-in as an instructor to view your courses, take attendance for virtual sessions, and print attendance sheets for in-person sessions.  Bookmark this URL for quick access.  The link is also available in your student account to change roles quickly.  You will be added as an instructor when you complete the JCS New Training Request Form (requires sign-in) to submit your training to TLC.
